Ginger Cats
I have a thing for ginger (a.k.a. orange or red) cats. I had a kitty named Lionel when I was in college who was my all time favorite cat. He was a big boy topping the scales at 25 lbs. in his prime. He wasn't so much fat as he was tall. When he died quite suddenly, I dealt with my grief by driving to my family's business which is a nursery (trees not babies) and brought home Mojo (above). His mom was a stray (one of many at the nursery), who'd delivered her litter in the bagged fertilizer building 6 weeks prior. Mojo was born right in the middle of some pretty strong chemicals and so we've always said he's a bit on the nutty side from the exposure, but he is quite the lovebug and loves to snuggle every chance he gets. He especially adores visitors with an open lap to leap onto and will quickly curl up for a snooze.
Four months later, Mojo's mother gave birth to another litter. This time they finally caught her and contained her in a back room to keep the kittens safe and to tame her so she could get spayed. About this time Mojo was quite the crazy kitten. I'd be walking and out of the blue Mojo would come flying up to me, scale my leg and back with his nails giving me a "MEEEEEEOOOWW" squeal once he landed on my shoulder. He'd also attack our old cat, Cuddles, just for fun which left Cuddles always in a state of panic. We decided Mojo needed a friend and went to check out the litter of new kitties at the nursery. Milo (below) was the only ginger kitty and we scooped him up and brought him home to be Mojo's play toy friend. They hit it off instantly and have a typical love/irritate/tease relationship like most brothers do. Milo is more reserved with his affection and is our resident assassin. He's always bringing home his latest kill for our viewing pleasure. It's pretty funny how so many people have such a hard time telling them apart.
A fun little fact about orange cats is that it is fairly uncommon for one to be female. Most are males kind of like how most calicos are females.

Great shots♥
I have a female tabby and a male tuxedo. People who generally dislike cats will remark to me how "funny" they are...because they both follow me from room to room and out around the yard.
Also they both have such distinct personalities...it was fun reading about yours! : )
Thank you so much for sharing at Your Sunday Best this week. xoxo
